The subtitle of the book, “Warrior Queen from the Rigveda,” hints at the book’s focus. Although I haven’t read the Veda, I appreciate the author’s mention of the hymns in the author’s note. The author’s remarkable job is transforming these hymns into a captivating story. The narration is simple yet engaging, drawing readers in effortlessly. The book presents a political plot experienced by settlements in the Jambudvipa, or Ancient Vedic India, in an easily understandable manner. It celebrates knowledge, the struggle to acquire it, and the subsequent growth. It also highlights the strength of sheer will to protect loved ones and the power of self-belief. I find this book perfect for introducing children to it as it uses simple English.
